    The Human Resources Business Partner II is responsible for administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity and uses knowledge of various human resources functions including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations to provide tactical HR support to line managers.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides human resources consultation and support to designated business units
    • Works closely with the Director and consults with business unit management in the strategic planning process and development of human resources strategies that support the unit's business needs
    • Acts as a liaison to other human resources functions when necessary
    • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
    • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
    • Plans and administers New Employee Orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals
    • Reviews and may sometimes process paperwork relating to hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations for entry into the payroll system
    • Provides guidance to management with personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, incentive programs and terminations
    • Recommends changes to Employee Handbook, and written policies and procedures as needed
    • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review process, personal goal administration, safety, and sexual harassment
    • Works closely with the Director and advises line management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
    • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
    • Assists in administering performance review programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization
    • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization
    • Assists with quarterly and annual bonus programs to ensure consistency and equity within organization
    • Assists managers with employee performance management and terminations; prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
    • Facilitates regularly scheduled employee engagement and training programs as required
    • Reviews and processes unemployment compensation claims as needed
    • Participates in trade shows and other recruiting and marketing related venues when needed
    • May oversee and participate in recruiting program management when required
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Reads and abides by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs
    • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company
    • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University and 6 or more years of progressive human resources experience in a mid to large sized company; or at least 10 years of equivalent combination of education and progressive experience
    • Healthcare industry experience preferred

     

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

    • Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Lawson Business Edition preferred
    • Proficient in internet use

     

    Certificates and Licenses:

    • S/PHR preferred
