    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    Supervises and participates in the credentialing and re-credentialing process to ensure that the credentialing status of all Envision Physician Services providers under assigned accounts are always current. This includes supervising the credentialing process and maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy records of provider credentials of assigned accounts according to established policies and procedures. The supervisor, in conjunction with the Credentialing Manager, ensures the credentialing department operates effectively and efficiently through appropriate direction and supervision of staff, which includes training, audits, corrective action, monitoring and reporting, and ensures that all credentialing information is held in the strictest confidence.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

    • Supervises and coordinates all credentialing and privileging activities for assigned accounts to ensure the credentialing is kept current.
    • Monitors, provides direction to and assists the assigned credentialing staff to ensure work is completed timely, thoroughly, accurately, and efficiently so that credentialing status is always current.
    • Processes applications and reappointments for hospitals and contacts providers regarding missing information when necessary.
    • Ensures the data integrity of the credentialing system.
    • Ensures that the credentialing database is fully utilized, maintained and kept up-to-date.
    • Continually instills and maintains the highest level of customer service with the providers, the medical staff offices and within the division.
    • Maintains close contact with all departments regarding status of applications and credentialing process.
    • Manages staff work flow to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
    • Serves as back-up to assigned coordinators during absences.
    • In conjunction with the Credentialing Manager, continually identifies process improvement methods and ways to automate processes to increase efficiencies.
    • Trains new hires and assists with on-going education of staff.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    • Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
    • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.

     

    Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications -
    Education/Licensing/Certification:

    • High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
    • CPMSM/CPCS Certification preferred

     

    Experience:

    • Three years credentialing experience
    • Two years of supervisory experience required

       

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • High level of knowledge in the process of credentialing and privileging physicians and ancillary providers
    • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with physicians, all staff members, and external customers
    • Ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to accuracy and detail.
    • Working knowledge of computers and ability to use spreadsheet and database programs.
    • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
    • Knowledge of JCAHO Accreditation standards.
    • Knowledgeable in Federal and State Regulations on Confidentiality and Peer Review guidelines.
    • Self-motivated; ability to work without direct supervision in a fast paced environment under stressful conditions.
    • Skilled in gathering, reporting, and analyzing information.
