    Related to revenue accounting and other activities, this position will assist as needed with analysis and evaluation of revenue trends and operating results, support coordination with external and internal auditors, and train and mentor others on understanding revenue results and achievement of goals. This position will be the primary resource within the company for using data analytics to evaluate matters affecting valuation and develop methods for communicating an understanding operating results related to revenue. The position will identify and monitor revenue contract terms and processes that require ongoing accounting treatment and evaluation and support efforts to analyze and understand operating results of acquired businesses and new organic business. This role will work closely with accounting, finance, and operations personnel during monthly closing and budgeting and forecasting processes, and on special projects to support the company’s revenue recognition. Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Accounting, this position will support and enterprise perspective on revenue accounting across all operating divisions

    Responsibilities

    80% of Time – Revenue Analysis

    • Develop and maintain routine models and techniques for analyzing revenue recognition at various levels of the organization
    • Evaluate and understand revenue trends affecting operating result
    • Develop and maintain routine reporting, dashboards, and presentations
    • Communicate results of analysis to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
    • Develop a strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, including business processes, tools, and technologies across all
    • Identify revenue cycle and valuation process improvement opportunities and implements solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of revenue operations and decision making process
    • Collaborate professionally with all internal and external revenue stakeholders
    • Coordinates regularly with revenue cycle management and others to ensure effective data collection and reporting processes
    • Serve as the department’s revenue analytics liaison and build strong relationships within the department and with others in the organization
    • Promotes automation of analysis and reporting
    • Exhibits technical aptitude and advanced experience with data tools
    • Develops proof of concept solutions for dashboards and process improvement solutions
    • Maintains strong attention to detail in order to ensure the accuracy of the data being reported
    • Performs ad-hoc requests from management
    • Prepare reports, narratives, visualizations, and presentations for management
    • Document procedures for data pulls, preparation, and integration where appropriate
    • Develop and maintain predictive analytical models as needed to support management in decision making, budgeting and forecasting
    • Aggregate and analyze disparate types of data and to recognize patterns and trends within data

     

    20% of Time – Other Activities

    • Assist as necessary with special projects and reviews and evaluates of revenue trends and operating results
    • Support employees with the tools, knowledge, and training to be successful in their duties. Set employee goals and provide timely constructive feedback
    • Assist external auditors with schedules and requests as needed
    • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results. Champion affirmative action efforts in all aspects of employment, including but not limited to staffing, training, promotion, etc. Responsible for compliance with and enforcement of company/department policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education/Licensing/Certification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA and/or MBA preferred

     

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years of collective public accounting and/of private company experience.
    • Big-4 public accounting experience preferred.
    • Accounting experience in the Healthcare industry a plus.
    • Minimum of three years of revenue accounting and/or analysis experience with demonstrated ability to execute programs and initiatives.
    • Experience in developing control processes and mechanisms.
    • Data analytics development and reporting experience required.
    • Must have at least two years of experience supervising or leading teams and leading processes.

     

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Specialized accounting knowledge and demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Well established track record of enhancing process and controls.
    • Advanced computer skills, especially in Excel.
    • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong organization, project management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
    • Must have the ability to develop, motivate, mentor staff, and plan and organize

    department workload.

    • Exhibits a sense of urgency towards attaining department goals and meeting deadlines.
    • Demonstrates an interest in continuous improvement and challenging status quo.
    • Self -motivated individual with demonstrated experience and continuous desire in improving and streamlining processes.
    • Must be able to effectively build relationships with other departments and all levels of leadership.
