    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    The Data Capability Product Manager is responsible for working across the organization with business development, enterprise functions, clinical and operations leadership to ensure internal data needs contribute to the overall organizational data capability. Primary components of this role include the data acquisition and transformation strategy ensuring the technical data capabilities will result in meeting the overall product objectives with valuable insights made available through self-service analytic capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver technical guidance towards the development and management of the product roadmap and strategy
    • Ability to lead the product development in an agile fashion. Own and manage the backlog; continuously create, modify and prioritize to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready and continue to align to business requirements
    • Participate in the development of requirement specifications and user interactions; complex functional design documents including use cases, workflow and system requirements.
    • Collaborate with UX and architects in design decisions, demonstrating understanding of technology stack and impact on final product. Ensure design decisions continue to reflect both internal and external expectations of the product
    • Perform workflow analysis and document processes and workflow
    • Integrate and align perspectives in a matrix environment from a broad set of stakeholders to ensure technical strategy is well governed and meets standards compliance
    • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews; analyze market requirements and opportunities.
    • Act as internal expert on the product and associated competitive landscape to pursue analysis and evaluation of market opportunities to expand the value of data for the organization through new product offerings while staying abreast of the latest industry trends
    • Ensure data is leveraged to provide operations with the information necessary to properly manage the business. Participate in the development of a self-service analytics environment for the enterprise
    • Participate in usability testing and identify potential areas of risk
    • Conduct and/or participate in design reviews and product demos as required
    • Ensure adherence to and compliance with established SOP’s and IT Governance process
    • Assist on special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned
    • Regular and reliable attendance required

    Qualifications

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

     

    Education/Experience:

     

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field required.  Minimum of five (5) years previous product management or product manager required.  Experience in healthcare required.  Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in designing and implementing technology solutions for

     

    large product or services organization.  Experience working with IT within hospitals and / or surgery centers to identify, design, deliver, and scale technology solutions.  Expertise in Agile methodology a plus.

    Mathematical Skills:

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.

     

    Language Skills:

     

    Ability to understand, read, write and speak English.  Ability to successfully write business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.  Ability to communicate and interact with various levels of administration.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

     

    Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors.  Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Other Qualifications:

     

    Experience working relevant regulations such as HIPAA and HITRUST.  Strong skills in team building and understanding the role of an influencer.  Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.  Must be able to work well with others.  Strong verbal and written communication skills required.  Must be detail oriented and organized.  High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.  Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.  Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance.  Must also be able to work with teams across multiple time zones.
