    We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Application Systems Analyst III. 


    The Application Systems Analyst III will be expected to assist in resolving incidents in a timely manner, through effective root cause analysis and solution identification. The candidate will see incidents to resolution and follow through on solutions. The candidate will develop level of expertise on the assigned applications as well as the associated physical and logical infrastructure. The individual will collaborate on an ongoing basis with other application support analysts and developers.


    This role is for a motivated and talented individual to work in the IT Support Services team in Healthcare Technology. The candidate will be expected to provide end to end Application Support of in-house and vendor systems and also provide user support as needed. The role requires knowledge of the application support processes such as incident case management, logging, prioritization of issues and status updates to various levels of management.


    Drive continuous improvement across the application support landscape. Focus on ticket reduction, application stability, and automation of manual processes. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely delivery of ongoing problems, projects and outstanding tasks.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support:
      • Ability and willingness to provide off-hours support, as needed, to resolve system problems during non-business hours or backlogs
      • Ability and willingness to hold on-call responsibilities to respond to system issues 24x7x365; involves on call rotation covering the full week. Occasional overtime may be required
      • Ownership of all issues that are raised to Application Support team, through to closure regardless of which team or Vendor ultimately resolves the issue
      • Participate in and manage Incident Management and Problem Management processes to resolve Production issues and root cause analysis, resolution, and reporting


    • Application Ownership:
      • Proactively identify common root causes of issues; address to improve overall production stability
      • Assisting in establishing pro-active processes for monitoring, issue avoidance, and improvement of service
      • Perform daily health checks of the applications, scripts, and infrastructure supporting these tools
      • Provide daily support in order to ensure client satisfaction.  Develop and maintain good relationships with lines of business.  Ensure communication is client focused and professional
      • Developing and promoting standard operating procedures and creating processes and tooling for operational efficiency
      • Working closely with our end users, stakeholders and the vendor to identify improvement opportunities
      • Interfacing with internal customers, inputting into technical solutions, advising on best practice and validating new implementations
      • Document and maintain list of ongoing issues, bugs and track their resolution.
      • Document enhancement requests from end users, follow the governance process for approvals and partner with the vendor through the testing, completion and deployment phases


    • General:
      • Ability to teach and train new end users, create and develop training material to include, videos, quick reference guides, How to Guides, Knowledge Bases Articles, etc.
      • Exploring new technologies to optimize the delivery and reliability of automation
      • Knowledge of multiple systems, as well as an in-depth understanding of the functionality for these systems
      • Analyst must use discretion to prioritize workload in order to ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction
      • Strive for best practices and follow the ITIL framework
      • Technical expertise on multiple platforms is required.
      • Work with application development on new code releases and defects
      • Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business continuity events
      • Participate in audit support activities, as they pertain to Information Security, for both internal and external audits.  Perform audit support tasks as assigned
      • Evaluate service level issues and suggested enhancements escalated by service delivery teams to diagnose and address underlying system problems and inefficiencies
      • Ability to work with teams in multiple geographic locations and time zones
      • Demonstrate experience in effective decision making within a high pressure environment
      • Engage third party suppliers on applications support issues as needed


    • Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, and 5 or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 5+ years practical work experience in a time-critical, application support or operations environment, ideally with a healthcare institution
    • Clinical experience in a healthcare setting as an LPN, RN or other type of caregiver is ideal, but not required. Experience in the perioperative environment is a plus.
    • An understanding of how applications impact end user workflows and a willingness to identify process improvements
    • Experience working in an agile environment
    • Extensive experience in supporting and troubleshooting web applications and databases
    • Strong investigation and analysis skills in order to recommend value-add solutions in problem focus areas
    • Proven ability to communicate technical and production-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
    • Must be able to multi-task in a complex production environment and quickly acquire broad knowledge of tools, platforms and working practices
    • Exhibits problem solving skills and shows flexibility in supporting evolution in process, standards, and strategy
    • Self-starter with confidence to drive issues through to completion in highly pressured environment
    • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with high levels of vendor interaction preferred
    • Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, auditing, risk analysis, business resumption planning and contingency planning
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, languages, and methodologies
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools. Eagerness to learn new things
    • Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment that has a broad focus
    • Able to validate any report issues/ad hoc requests to run business reports
    • Multi-disciplined technology skills encompassing some of the following:
    • Experience with Cloud environment support
    • Knowledge of web based applications / architecture
    • Understanding of HL7 interfaces and data flow processes
    • Windows PowerShell scripting
    • Database skills, including fundamental understanding of SQL and Stored Procedures
    • Solid knowledge and experience in technology including various architectures, languages, tools and applications
    • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networks in general beneficial
    • Strong critical thinking, analysis, research, investigation and evaluation skills, with a structured approach to problem solving
    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
    • Microsoft Office Suite
