    We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Payroll Tax Analyst II at our Regional Service Center in Plantation, FL.  You will act as a payroll liaison between employees and the Company.  You will also provide support to the division by researching and following up on any inquiries regarding expense reimbursements.  

     

    The Payroll Tax Analyst II. This persons primary responsibility will be to research and resolve any overpayments that may occur within Payroll.  The ability to calculate moneys owed by former employees is necessary, as well as being comfortable with Gross Ups.  This position should also include knowledge of payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Manage overpayment recoupment process to include tracking/logging of biweekly and monthly deductions
    • Maintain data integrity including balance adjustments and YTD records
    • Prepare Repayment of Wages Form 100A or 100B as applicable for each employee
    • Calculate net amount due for active employees with prior year overpayment and current year overpayment for termed employees
    • Determine root cause of overpayments and respond to inquiries from practice managers / employees via email and phone
    • Respond to requests for Statement of Earnings and adjusted tax forms
    • Produce earnings reports, pay registers, and rosters for bi-weekly and monthly payroll
    • Produce and analyze payroll reports to proactively avoid pay discrepancies
    • Subject matter expert on all payroll tax related issues
    • Ensure overpayment issues resolved via Service Now for Payroll Support Center (PSC)
    • Oversees payroll tax planning of entities by interpreting payroll tax regulations
    • Works with Payroll Management to ensure there is compliance with statutory tax requirements at the state and federal level.
    • Review new IRS regulations for Payroll and update the company’s records.
    • Quarter reconciliations for 941’s and annual reconciliations of four quarters and W-3’s.
    • Audit of year end information for the W-2’s and processing W-3C if necessary.
    • Research and resolve statutory notices including IRS notices.
    • As part of the payroll operations, process payroll amendments as needed.
    • Maintain ADP VS Lawson reconciliations, 941’s statements of deposits, and employee and employer liabilities.
    • Review wage, payroll and tax reports generated by payroll service (ADP) for accuracy of total Wages and labor distributions.
    • As part of newly acquired entities, set up State Unemployment or State Withholding jurisdictions as needed.
    • Act as liaison between Payroll and the AmSurg Tax department.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational classes or reviewing professional publications regarding.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Reads and abides by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.
    • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company.
    • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so.

     

    Qualifications

    • Very strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Demonstrated ability to calculate overpayments from multiple sources and manage recoupment process
    • Experience with multi- state tax jurisdictions; multiple entities
    • Reconciliations of 941’s; state unemployment; W-2’s
    • Knowledge of payroll tax jurisdictions
    • Experience with multiple state/companies/payroll IDs – 6500 + employees

     

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University and 4 or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Healthcare industry experience with complex payroll structures across multiple legal entities is preferred.

     

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

    • Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (V-look up and pivot table tools)
    • Oracle

     

    Certificates and Licenses:

    • CPP preferred
