    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Vice President of Cloud Operations will utilize experience and expertise in cloud technologies to drive value to the business through a transition and adoption of a cloud operating model. This role will partner with the organization’s senior leaders and the broader cross-functional team to provide a clear path forward through the migration journey and ongoing cloud operations.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide leadership in technology architecture and platform design for Envisions cloud capabilities, while establishing strategy in alignment with the IT Leadership Teams.
    • Govern cloud strategy and operations within the company’s cloud technology. SME on cloud architecture, platforms, and environments.
    • Leading & managing the design and implementation of a cloud-focused infrastructure within Envision and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for Envision to drive strategic business growth.
    • Ensure compliance and security of all software applications. Optimize architectural resiliency, disaster recovery, and application operation.
    • Own the process and lead team in cloud strategy. Implement processes for cloud adoption, integration, and implementation.
    • Lead cloud application design and integration. Work alongside IT team to deliver solutions. Ensure road mapped solutions are repeatable and scalable.
    • Communicate cloud value proposition to range of audiences, including review boards, senior management, cross-functional teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Address aspects of cloud adoption in terms of development, life cycle management, data security, enterprise management, governance, and more.
    • Act as cloud promoter for the value it brings the business. Understand how cloud works with business and impacts various levels of organization.
    • Anticipate stakeholder needs. Develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required. Also advising stakeholders on relevant technical issues for their business area. Meanwhile, providing trust between the teams and the stakeholders through open and honest conversation.
    • Plan and manage resources ensuring all projects meet obligations, deadlines, and budget expectations.
    • Regular and reliable attendance required.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

     

    Education/Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field of Computer Science, Technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience.   Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in progressive roles, managing IT operations quality control, process improvement, and compliance. 

    Previous experience with the following:

     

     

    • Running day-to-day cloud operations, managing environments and large-scale cloud application deployments.
    • Planning and building IT-related application and infrastructure services.
    • Proven management, leadership, and P&L experience with ownership over large-scale initiatives a must.
    • Attracting, leading and developing DevOps staff in a geographically dispersed environment.
    • Technical product ownership management approach, agile software development practices, and advanced knowledge of DevOps organizational structures and delivery methodologies.
    • History introducing and executing Enterprise-wide organizational systems, processes and frameworks.

     

     

    Computer / Technical Skills:

     

    The planning and building of a cloud foundation as part of an information technology-related application and infrastructure organization across diverse geographic locations emphasizing technology needs in various IT technical areas;

    • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, applications, architecture, various platforms, best practices for integration, microservices, and DevOps. Ability to ensure and enforce compliance
    • Need to be familiar with and confident in security aspects of cloud.
    • Understanding of cloud value from business standpoint. Ability to articulate value props and influence tech decision maker discussion.
    • Well-versed in technical aspects of cloud architecture including agile environments, emerging tech, software design, and more.
    • Hands-on knowledge of cloud computing, storage and networking

     

    Mathematical Skills:

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages. Ability to perform statistical analysis and predictive data modeling.

     

    Language Skills:

     

    Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills through the ability to understand, read, write and speak English at a level appropriate for executive business interactions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public. Preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials including those articulating technical changes.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

     

    Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors. Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables. Able to prioritize workflow, manage schedule and resourcing projects.

Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance.
