    We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Clinical Risk Management at our corporate offices in Nashville. The Director, Clinical Risk Management serves as an expert risk consultant enterprise-wide and is responsible for reviewing, designing, and supporting policy or organizational programs based on current loss trends as well as legislation both national and statewide.  The Director, Clinical Risk Management will also be responsible for data management and education components of risk management programs and services to include leading and promoting patient safety and risk management initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Collect and analyze relevant data concerning patient injuries, aggregates data summaries, and maintains statistical trending losses as well as other risk management data.
    • Maintain a network of informational sources and experts, performs risk assessments, and evaluations of providers and programs to assess loss potential.
    • Maintain risk management statistics and files.
    • Perform proactive analysis of patient safety and medical errors processes.
    • Serve as internal consultant to providers on matters related to communication with patients and families in face of medical error.
    • Maintain constant awareness of legislative and regulatory activities related to healthcare risk management.
    • Conduct research and respond to professional liability and general liability questions posed by providers.
    • Recommend appropriate revisions to new or existing policies and procedures to mitigate risk as well as ways to minimize risk through system changes; reviews and provides recommendations to providers regarding policies as appropriate to maintain adherence to current standards and requirements.
    • Provide in-service training at all levels of organization to raise awareness to current and emerging risk exposure.
    • Works with the company Patient Safety Organization to identify claim trends and make recommendations to specific specialties based on those claim events.
    • Participate on other related special projects as assigned.
    • Regular and reliable attendance.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

     

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study from a certified university or college.  Master’s preferred.

     

     

    EXPERIENCE:

     

    Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in physician, hospital or health system risk management. Clinical nursing experience required. Licensed RN, NP or PA required.  CPHRM or CPPS preferred.

     

    COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

    Microsoft Office Suite.
