    We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Medical Technologist at Resolute Pain Solutions in Port St. Lucie. The Medical Technologist will be responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results and only perform those tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and that are within the individual’s skill level as determined by education, training or experience and technical abilities.

     

    *Schedule Monday- Friday 9:00-5:30. Every third Saturday with the preceding Monday off

    Responsibilities

    1. General Duties:
    • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patients.
    • Maintain records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
    • Adhere to the laboratory’s policies and documenting all QC activities, instruments and procedural calibrations and instrument maintenance.
    • Follow the laboratory’s policies whenever test systems are not within established acceptable levels of performance.
    • Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor.
    • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.

     

    1. Technologist Duties:
    • Monitor stock of all products used and communicate stock requirements to supervisor allowing a minimum of 7 days for delivery.
    • Know normal ranges for testing and panic values that require immediate attention.
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting techniques.
    • Document remedial action.
    • Report problems with patient samples, instruments, equipment, procedures, products, or quality control to the supervisor immediately.
    • Follow Quality Control policies and procedures.
    • Understand and use Laboratory Information System (LIS) to manage all pre-analytic, analytic, and post analytic activities.
    • Train new personnel.
    • Have the knowledge and expertise to assist Lab Technician or Lab Aide regarding questions or problems in the Supervisor’s absence.
    • Review quality control data and respond to shifts and trends.
    • Review quality control data and assist technicians in responding to shifts and trends.
    • Monitor and update lot number data on worksheets.
    • Effectively communicate any problems encountered in meeting this job description with the supervisor.

    Qualifications

     

    • Florida Technologist License- Chem, Heme and Micro
    • Toxicology experience preferred
