We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Director Infrastructure Architecture.

 

Position Summary:

 

Envision Healthcare is seeking a talented, passionate and transformational leader for Director of Infrastructure Architecture. This key leadership role will be responsible for the architecture and design for the Envision infrastructure.  This role will help lead and champion the Envision IT Infrastructure Strategy, which is focused on driving a large-scale digital transformation.  This includes: eliminating technical debt; modernizing the existing infrastructure to drive opportunity cost and support growth at scale; improving the end user experience enabling productivity from any approved location/device; and, develop and support a cloud strategy to transform systems and environments toward public, private and hybrid IaaS and PaaS cloud technologies as and when appropriate.

This Enterprise leader will partner with peers business partners and a diverse group of product owners and develop strong relationships to influence decision making.

The Director of Infrastructure Architecture will continually learn and maintain current knowledge of Envision Solutions to provide meaningful guidance around architecture, engineering and deployment to enable a scalable, secure and sustainable inter-operable environment driven by automation.

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop an IT infrastructure architecture strategy that addresses Envision’s business needs, and establishes the approach for securely integrating information, applications and programs with the overall IT strategy
  • Acts as a consultant to analyze system business process and design, and service delivery as it relates to IT
  • Fosters teams to deliver new end-to-end solutions that reduce cost and are sustainable
  • Leads a high performing team and provide technical leadership in the IT space
  • Responsible for the design and documentation of infrastructure and connectivity between all sites and cloud infrastructure
  • Develop an enterprise IT infrastructure services roadmaps and solution architecture to ensure service availability, scalability, IT service continuity and overall cost effectiveness of application and service delivery
  • Oversee the technical design of IT enterprise infrastructure including network (WAN, LAN, Wireless, SDWAN, switching, routing, VPNs, firewalls, etc.), Telecom (voice, collaboration, etc.), compute, storage, virtualization, database, directory, authentication, monitoring, identity, access and remote access services
  • Providing overall technical guidance and leadership in projects involving a variety of infrastructure technologies that supports business applications
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct PoC’s and pilots to ensure best of class tools are utilized and develop strategy for upgrade path
  • Educate, consult and influence IT and business stakeholders to better understand existing infrastructure architecture risks, IT best practices, and infrastructure changes required to support business and IT strategies
  • Utilize best practices, structured approaches and architecture standards for evaluating, designing and implementing services/solutions to meet requirements for functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security and disaster recovery; proactively manage performance of key vendors and third parties

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Licensing/Certification:

  • 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 10+ years as a Lead IT Infrastructure architect including research, development and delivery of technical designs for Network, Telecom, Storage, Compute, Data, Security, and Applications services

Knowledge and Skills:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent cloud certification or any other Industry recognized technical level education and experience
  • Very strong interpersonal skills; able to build relationships and influence across the enterprise and adept at working in a global, large scale, cross functional, highly collaborative and high-performance environment; ability to interact and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including C-Suite level interactions
  • Enterprise Security knowledge and experience implementing security solutions for enterprise infrastructure and developing systems and processes to ensure that infrastructure is compliant to Security standards and policies
  • Demonstrated strength in contract negotiations, vendor management, capacity planning and department budget management (including Opex and Capex responsibility) in a fast growth environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills that result in conclusive recommendations / decisions
  • Excellent change management skills and ability to drive transformation across a broad organization to build acceptance and alignment behind a significant change mission
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and highly dynamic work environment
  • Able to thrive in an environment that requires a high degree of autonomy, integrity and accountability
  • Successful track record of analytical thinking and problem solving
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
