Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Credentialing Coordinator II. Under direct supervision, the Credentialing Coordinator II reviews practitioner records to maintain current required documents, obtains verification of credentials to confirm that candidates meet the criteria established by our contracts with facilities where practitioners will be seeking privileges. The Credentialing Coordinator will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Medical Staff Offices of the contracts they are assigned and are responsible for assisting the Medical Staff Offices as requested, in addition to assisting other Credentialing Coordinator team members as needed.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CREDENTIALING COORDINATOR II:

  • Handle expirables for assigned accounts ensuring required documents are received and verifications completed within established deadlines, notifying appropriate parties once received
  • Ensure that the MSO (Medical Staff Office) credentialing database is updated and current
  • Ensure that primary source verifications occur for internal processing as well as external customers (i.e. MSO’s & State Boards)
  • Provide timely follow-up to obtain documentation required
  • Develop an understanding of and adheres to established credentialing guidelines may assist credentialing coordinators in-depth review of practitioner’s application and accompanying documents ensuring applicant meets facility guidelines and eligibility. Examines researches, enters data, sets up files and gathers all information necessary to process information received from providers to support and complete the expirable credentialing process. Utilizes various websites, contacts educational facilities and professional references to verify credentials. Ensures compliance with facility Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, policies and procedures for hospital clients and Envision Physician Services.
  • Extensive and frequent verbal and written communications with Clinicians, Medical Staff Offices, educational facility, state licensing boards, professional references and internal company staff, requiring professionalism and tact, to attain or provide all needed information quickly in order to expedite the credentialing of Clinicians. Provides excellent customer service in accordance with Envision Physician Service’s customer service standards to all internal and external parties.
  • Coordinate and Process all check requests, works with finance team.
  • Assist newly hired and current clinicians with licensing application process
  • Coordinate internally to ensure complete information is received
  • Assist and prepare for NCQA audit
  • Adhere to Information Security Policies and ensure that Envision is as secure as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CREDENTIALING COORDINATOR II:

To perform this job successfully, the Credentialing Coordinator II must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 1+ years' experience as described above.
  • Solid organizational skills with ability to consistently meet established production and quality goals and metrics.
  • Able to communicate and work well in a team environment.
  • Able to effectively prioritize work on a daily basis and follow up on open items in a timely manner.
  • Ability to take direction and quickly adapt to established guidelines, be self-directed and successfully able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to details are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Able to communicate and present information to a wide variety of parties effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook; and conducting research using various websites.
