We have an exciting opportunity available for a Medical Assistant II at our busy and successful eMedical Urgetnt Care Clinic in Middletown, NJ. This Medical Assistant II is a Lead role that oversees and manages all clinical aspects of the office practice. The Medical Assistant II performs clinical functions to include taking history and vital signs, documenting results, coordinating lab and prescription orders, and assisting with minor office procedures. This role assures optimal patient flow within the clinical areas and communicates issues with physicians as well as with clinical and administrative staff and management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Train Medical Assistants in all clinical and office procedures.
  • Ensure a chaperone is present at exams, and remain with patients during exams.
  • Assist clinical personnel during patient visits.
  • Ensure clinical staffing and scheduling.
  • Review clinical reports.
  • Ensure office compliance with OSHA/CLIA/HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain controlled substance inventory.
  • Conduct “code” and other emergency office drills.
  • Maintain inventory for crash cart.
  • Review and dispose of any services (i.e., post-op, OB, follow-up on consults, etc.), triage in-office emergencies.
  • Educate patients on diet, preparation for procedures, administration of medicine, risks, and precautions.
  • Adhere to Information Security Policies and ensures that Envision is as secure as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to communicate and work well in a team environment.
  • Consistently able to effectively prioritize work and follow up on open items in a timely manner.


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification or License.
  • 2+ years of experience as described.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Health Records.
  • Active CPR Certification, BLS or ACLS.
