We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Director of Provider Enrollment!

Responsibilities

The Director of Enrollment is responsible for the daily operation of the Provider Enrollment Department and staff in the process of enrolling all providers with insurance plans and agencies appropriate for their practice and the state in which they operate.  Direct the management team and staff, to ensure that provider enrollment numbers are obtained enabling the company to bill provider charges in a timely manner. Primary responsibilities include personnel leadership, provider enrollment technical proficiency, effective and professional communication, disciplined execution of strategic initiatives, and relationship management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that Managers administer assignments, monitor goals and validate that tasks are completed timely and accurately.
  • Utilizes critical thinking to proactively identify and resolve issues. Proactively shares best practices with colleagues.
  • Provides executive summaries of issues, identifying root causes. Develops and implements mitigation and remediation strategies.
  • Manages issues to closure by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops and executes enrollment strategies, bringing in additional support and expertise as necessary.
  • Develops horizontal and vertical relationships with colleagues, vendors, and payers to ensure organizational enrollment expectations are being met. Collaborate with peers and business partners to achieve standardization in provider enrollment processes.
  • Ensures that new business, mergers & acquisitions are managed effectively related to Enrollment.
  • Leads and/or contributes to various enrollment standardization and/or process improvement initiatives, assembling cross functional teams as needed to improve processes.
  • Contributes to organizational strategic planning as it pertains to achieving provider enrollment goals.
  • Maintains and manages the enrollment process to be able to obtain provider numbers in a timely fashion.
  • Provide on-going training and development opportunities, coaching and feedback to staff members.
  • Facilitates an atmosphere that fosters teamwork.
  • Delegates to staff members utilizing situational leadership skills to ensure expectations are outlined and that support is available and provided to ensure associates are set up for success.
  • Monitors and manages labor costs, inventory levels and production planning for designated departments. Optimizes productivity while avoiding unnecessary costs such as excess overtime.
  • Forecasts and anticipates other operating expense needs (e.g., travel, training, and consulting). Makes recommendations and justifications regarding operating and capital expenses.
  • Participates in and applies learning from professional and technical educational offerings.
  • Onboards and orients new leaders and staff members.
  • Adheres to and complies with information systems security. Knows and follows Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attends Information Systems security training, when offered.  Reports informationsystems security problems.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company.
  • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Strong knowledge of the rules/regulations of Medicare/Medicaid and other government payors as well as commercial insurers and specialty contracts to ensure accurate and timely billing and payment of claims.
  • Solid understanding of medical insurance industry terminology.
  • In depth experience with payor-specific requirements and guidelines for the Enrollment department.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other critical governmental regulations.
  • Possesses strong management principles.
  • Communicates effectively, (both orally and in writing) in English.
  • Conveys thoughts in a well-organized, concise manner. Uses appropriate grammar and punctuation in written documents.
  • Performs in a consistently-organized manner with strong attention to detail.
  • Affiliation, membership and /or regular attendance and participation in professional organizations related to Provider Enrollment preferred

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration or Healthcare from a four-year College or University and five or more years of provider enrollment and/or revenue cycle experience in a healthcare leadership position, preferably with multi-specialty, national health care provider; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Enrollment, Practice Management or Revenue Cycle Management software experience
