Paid Time Off:

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Oracle Payroll Systems Administrator IV.  The Oracle Payroll Systems Administrator IV is responsible for maintaining system integrity and providing solutions to all Oracle payroll related issues and applications. They provide all Oracle payroll configuration for acquisitions and are responsible for ad hoc payroll reporting to national and divisional departments. Analysts also assist payroll staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and troubleshooting techniques. Analysts are also responsible for maintaining professional and technical knowledge. 


  • Diagnose & resolve system issues while working under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to understand Oracle fast formulas and assist the development team with updates.
  • Functional/Technical systems administrator implementation, deployment, conversion and support of Oracle Payroll application
  • Solid understanding of entire multi-state payroll processing cycle including but not limited to payroll taxes (Federal, State, Local, School District and Occupational ER), Gross to Net Calculations, Costing, General Ledger
  • Knowledge of EBS reporting tools to assist various departments for audits and litigation for internal or external users producing ad-hoc reports
  • Configure earnings and deduction codes while defining and maintaining systems balances
  • Create and/or update document test plans, upgrades & new system releases and coordinate the work of others to develop, test, install and modify programs. Perform testing and debugging of data prior to moving solutions into the production environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system problems encountered by end users
  • Prepare user training documentation & train end users on Oracle Payroll and reporting
  • Support all payroll interfaces and resolve issues by direct vendor contact. Such vendors include Kronos, Vertex, ADP, employment verifications, and Optio
  • Ability to think strategically and explain opportunities and risks to multiple levels
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues independently in a rapidly changing environment and when necessary, take initiative in uncertain circumstances
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills for use in issue identification and corrective action recommendations
  • Provide Data Load support for system through Oracle system tools
  • Must be able to work with sensitive materials and files while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to utilize effective collaboration and communication skills with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to independently multi-task with minimal supervision in order to deliver assignments in a timely manner
  • Knowledge/ability to lead special payroll project such as year-end processing
  • Beta testing for enhanced functionality of Oracle products and third-party vendors
  • Lead for acquisition data integration for payroll module
  • Liaison between benefits and HR data integrating with Oracle payroll product
  • Assist with tax research including tax accountants and local/state agencies
  • Pull data from prior systems databases (JDE) for ad-hoc reporting requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University and 8 to 10 years or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills working with various end users, technical teams and vendors
  • Proficient in MS office applications (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Access)

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Eight to ten years of implementation, extensive setup and configuration experience in Oracle EBS Payroll or mix of Oracle EBS Payroll and Oracle Fusion Payroll modules.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve system problems while working under pressure to meet deadlines
